Dima Pick & Place Software & Firmware Upgrade

Item 1 of 1
Overview

Do you have a Dima Pick & Place machine ?

Does it run on windows xp or windows 7 ?

Do you want to upgrade it to windows 10 ?

Or does it use a slow harddrive ?

We at fixtrade offer both software and firmware upgrades for the Dima Pick & Place machines.

We will install windows 10 on a fast solid state drive, and install the latest software availlable for these machines.

We will also upgrade the firmware for the machine.

Both firmware and software offer new features, wich can be seen in the summary below.

New features

  • Added a custom add-on 'SPEC-0098 External Vision' to allow external package recognition for package shapes that are not as easy to find with the standard capabilities available.
  • Added a custom add-on 'SPEC-0099 Trays On Product' to allow tray feeders to be available on each product platform that is being loaded into the machine.
  • Added a custom add-on 'SPEC-0100 Inspect Before Pick-up'.
  • Removed the country flags for the language selection of the application. The active language is now displayed in the application start-up window. The flag in this window has been replaced by an image of the globe. The language can be set by clicking this image.
  • Added a new option "Keep product data" to the production data page of the configuration window that is set by default. When checked all finished and wasted boards will be kept in the management database. When unchecked, only aborted and running products will be kept in the management database.
  • The font size can now be selected for the labels that can be printed for tape feeders.
  • Added support to badmark a panel of a product that was defined as type ‘single’. This might for example be useful if something went wrong in the production process.
  • Panels can more easily be badmarked by right-clicking anywhere on the panel in the product view instead of having to position the cursor position at a panel item.
  • Added and changed some features of automation mode regarding extensibility (SWEP-0110)
    • Added support for automation mode by extensibility (SWEP-0110). Previously, a production start by extensibility would require a product file to be open, or a barcode or product file would have to be set by extensibility first.
    • The configuration page for barcode automation has been split into a new configuration page for automation mode, because a new option 'use automation' has been added to extensibility.
    • Added support for receiving product identification during or after loading a product.
    • For each product that is identified externally by extensibility, it can now be set that the product should be processed or not. If a product should not be processed, it will be unloaded.
    • When production is stopped by extensibility, a message box can now be displayed with a reason why production was stopped. Production can now also be stopped immediatly without having to wait for a dispense path to be completed. However, the dispense status will become unknown in this specific situation.
    • The add-ons 'Extensibility' and 'Barcode Automation' can now be deactivated or reactivated in the add-on manager. Therefore, the individual check boxes that were present in the configuration window have been removed.
  • The Add-on manager can now be resized.
  • Added support to measure panel and local fiducials without global fiducials.
  • The dialog controls for testing SMEMA in the test window have been moved to a dedicated page.

Solved problems

  • The light tower did not go to 'orange flashing' if production was interrupted (when for example a fiducial could not be found), but was kept 'green' instead.
  • The software could crash if a panel was selected and the product type (single/multiple) was changed.
  • Fixed some issues with the side selection when opening a product file.
  • Names could not be updated in the component or dispense library if only case sensitivity was changed.
  • If vertical bars were used in names of library elements like components or dispense configurations, the element could not be found if it had to be found from outside the library, for example when double-clicking the element in the production assembly list.
  • Components could not be placed if "no correction" method was used, because this resulted in "E11060 Invalid package number".
  • A packing could not be removed anymore if the same packing was programmed among multiple tray feeders.
  • If extensibility was used to set the product file and/or product references for the incoming product, production could not be started without manually opening the product file first.
  • If a product was produced using external refs from extensiliby that did not contain any elements to be produced at all, the batch size was not incremented after the product was unloaded. As a result, a new product was being loaded, and extensibility was misleaded, because production should have been stopped.
  • If product refs are not unique that are sent over by extensibility, which could be the case if a carrier identification ref is transmitted as the board ref, the option 'allow duplicate product identifiers' has to be enabled. But in this situation board data should not be retrieved from the management database, because it also retrieved the previous board state (like wasted) and acts upon that.
  • The extensibility command SetProductInformation did not assign the product information to the correct product if a file specification was already set and no destination was specified, or if the destination was set to 'default'.
  • In case SWBA-0100 Barcode Automation was used and a product was loaded in the machine for which no product reference was set yet, an incoming barcode from the barcode scanner replaced the existing barcode. Typically, the product references are assigned after the fiducials have been recognized.
  • Production could not be started if no product file was opened and automation was used and set to optional identification.
  • If a product was set as 'not to be processed' by extensibility, the extentibility application also does not have to specify the product identification anymore.
  • If the Inverter option was used in the transport settings, the same side was produced again after being flipped.
  • If an inverter was used for flipping products, the transport system did not respect the unload time as set in the configuration window, but kept on unloading indefinitly.
  • If the transport inverter option is enabled, the inverter option is automatically disabled if 'manual unload' is activated.
  • If the production lines feature was used, and a second machine was configured with an inverter, meaning products are flipped from the previous machine (top --> bottom), items were marked 'Done' at the bottom side of the product if the same reference name existed and was produced at the top side, because the side information was not handled when restoring the production data.
  • If the production lines feature was used, the software could crash on a second machine when production was started without any product file open, and a board was loaded that did not come from the previous machine at all.
  • The software could crash when the template was changed for a panel.
  • Fixed some issues regarding serial port communication.
  • "E1640 cannot backup database" was displayed if 'is server path' was active in the configuration window and a database backup was started at the same machine as where the database server was running.
  • When a product file was saved, the setting was always cleared that a template height should be measured.
  • The conversion between UNC network paths and local paths did not work if the shared folder did point to a sub folder of a root drive, like 'C:\'.
  • The software crashed if the exchange platform process of the tray sequencer returned an error during production.
  • Optimized SQL query to prevent query-timeouts in cleaning board information.
